Women in the Western Balkans’ region remain underrepresented no matter what sphere we are talking about, whether it be the media or decision-making bodies. There is a huge pay gap, in favor of men, and still not many actions are taken in order to reduce the gaps that generally exist between men and women.

Media have a huge impact on how we perceive the reality we live in, but it also affects its creation. It is crucial to tackle the topic of media representation of women, as well as women in the newsrooms, because that can be a turning point towards a better position of women in our society.
