Women have made significant strides in the world of business over the years, but they still face various challenges and disparities compared to their male counterparts.

In 2021, women owned about 42% of all businesses in the United States, according to the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

However, women remain underrepresented in top leadership positions, with the gender pay gap also being a significant issue since women often earn less than their male counterparts in similar roles.

Women have been making strides in acquiring advanced education and skills. As of 2021, women earned more bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees than men in the United States.

The status of women in business varies significantly from one country to another. In some countries, women have more opportunities and face fewer obstacles, while in others, gender disparities are more pronounced.
