On the sidelines of the conference “Rethinking the Future of Work: Platform Work in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” we spoke with Phoebe V. Moore, Professor of Management and the Future of Work at the University of Essex, about the characteristics and challenges of algorithmic management in the world of work, the AI Act, and workers’ rights to co-determination in national legislation. We also asked whether existing laws are designed to protect workers’ health in the workplace and to ensure the responsible use of technology.
