And although we consider this a bare minimum, sometimes even these basic standards are not fulfilled and employees are deprived for essential human rights in their working environment. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This negative trend gets even more noticeable in bigger companies and corporations. <\/p>\n<p>So, for example in the UK, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) received thousands of complaints related to workplace discrimination and harassment each year. In the UK, a Stonewall study found that 35% of LGBTQ+ employees had hidden their identity at work because of discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, the gender pay gap remains a significant issue. In many countries, women earn less than men for similar work, and these breaches of human rights only get more serious if we talk about more marginalized individuals.<\/p>\n<p>But, in this episode of YouthSquad, as we usually do in our episodes, we will talk about a positive example, a change maker, and something that can serve as a role model when it comes to respecting human rights and praising diversity in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>With me here is Jovana, she\u2019s a customer experience training manager at Cake.
