One of the beauties of queer identities lies in the fact that there is no need for labeling unless an individuals explecetly has a desire to identify as one thing or another. The beauty is also in the atmosphere and value which is usually linked wtih the LGBTQ+ community and that being that this community is immensely accepting, inclusive and most of all happy to be as diverse as possible.
However, some members of the LGBTQ+ community feel more discriminated than others. What is even more concerning is that some LGBTQ+ members are discriminated against by the people from within the community which can lead to more severe stereotypes being formed and for an even bigger social distance between the LGBTQ+ community and the general public.
Bisexual people are sometimes, but unfortunately more often than not, described as indicisive and even as greedy for not being able to „pick“ between mostly binary presented options.
In this episode of YouthSquad I have an opportunity to talk about the problematic terminology and stereotypes around bisexual people with Dusanka, LGBTQ+ activist, feminist, and an advocate for human rights.
