Kristina Koivistoinen-Khatlamadzhiian is the founder of Belgrade-based FREYA architects, a studio whose project for Chernyi Cooperative Coffee Roasters has been shortlisted in the Bars and Restaurants category of the prestigious 2024 World Architecture Week competition. We spoke about her move to Belgrade, the city’s great potential and neglected heritage, as well as the right way to make unique architecture in the age cosmopolitan conformity.
